Yesterday I went to the work picnic and got my five-year pin.  It was nice.  There was a breeze and the temperature was really nice.  A lot of people brought their children with them.  Six people from our kitchen were there, and we saw people who used to be in our kitchen also.  On the way home I picked up a pizza from Little Caesar's.

I cleaned house some today and did laundry.  Nicholas had a campout last night at his scoutmaster's in-laws house and he said they spent a lot of time swimming in the water.

I took out my sewing projects to plan on actually getting some more progress made on them as well.

Minnie is doing ok.  I've been taking her food indoors at night because the raccoon only comes at night and can't take her food if it's gone.

Elizabeth went to a multi-stake dance tonight with some neighbors and I took them home.  I'm glad she had a nice time.

Christina stayed in.  She was out at the park talking with Josh earlier, and then she came home and was watching a movie downstairs when I left for work.

I'm really excited that Nicholas is going to be in the talent show Friday night.  I got off from work that night.

Tomorrow night is Elizabeth's steel drum ensemble's, "Night in Percussion," concert.

I'm applying for more hours at Whataburger also.  In the summer I don't have morning hours, so that would fill that gap.  Some of the people I work with know the hiring manager there.  I am hoping for the best.

I told Christina to reconsider joining up with marching band, rather, if she continues to have problems keeping up with stuff I will help make the decision easier for her.

So anyways, we will see how that goes.

I've really been enjoying spending time with my mom during her visit here from Florida.  We are going to the temple and she's been helping at home with stuff.

This is youth conference weekend so Elizabeth is going.  Nicholas has merit badge university tomorrow with boy scouts, so they are busy as well.  I'm not sure why Christina isn't going, but I don't know how to ask her about it without making her mad.

There's some great news about Christina's band, though.  They got all one's at the UIL evaluation.  She is in a good marching band.  It's a big time commitment, though--huge.

Well, I planted some basil, dill and cilantro and I guess I should go water them.  I finally mowed, too.

Well, this week has gone by quickly.  I'm taking off today as a personal day at work since my mother is visiting from Florida.  I'll be leaving soon for my other job, though.  She just got in last night.

The bluebonnet flowers have been in bloom.  I saw a bunch on the way to a fireside a few weeks ago in the Woodlands.  One of these days it would be nice to get a family photo in those, or one of the children, if they would be up to it.

Christina went to San Antonio for a Health Occupations Students of America statewide competition with two other students from the other high school.  I hope she has a nice time.  She filmed a dvd the other day a school group history project.  She sure keeps busy.

Nicholas went on a boy scout camporee campout last weekend at Spring Creek park.  I think it's time to buy him a new scout shirt, though.  He almost has the crime prevention merit badge.

I put up the "annual garage sale" marquees yesterday.  It's starting to get warm out again in a hurry.

It's nice having Mom here.  She watched the family history celebration dvd this morning and is getting ready to work out in the garden for me.  If I could, I would get her to relax and all, but she likes to be busy.

Minnie's owner also came by yesterday and gave some money to take care of her, which was generous.

This week is Spring Break, and I was off today.  So I pruned the hedges in front and did some more raking.  When I say I pruned them, I mean I really pruned them a lot.  They are much shorter now.  I haven't been pruning them every year, so this time it was major.

Also my visiting teachers came for a visit, which was nice.

I've been waking up sort of late-ish, so I'm going to try turning in earlier tonight so I can get back to an earlier schedule.

Tomorrow I plan to plant some seeds in the back.  It's cute that Minnie, the cat, watches everything I do back there; I have an audience now.

I cut out some sewing projects, but am putting most of them on hold for a while.  I want to be sure about what I make, I guess.
